government funded childcare for 3-5 year olds
(also known as or ‘universal free hours’ or ‘15 hours free childcare’)
You are entitled to 15 hours of government funded childcare per week during term time from the term after your child’s third birthday until they reach compulsory school age.
Please note: as we are open all year round, and not term time only, Raised in Bristol offers 12 hours of government funded childcare per week over the whole year.
All you need to do is register your child on our waiting list . Once you have accepted the offer of a place, Raised in Bristol then receives the funding from the government directly. You don't need to do anything else.
Please note: if your childcare needs exceed the total number of funded hours (12 per week), you will be invoiced for the additional hours to make up a full-day session at our published hourly rates.
extended government funded childcare for 3-5 year olds
(also known as ‘30 hours free childcare')
Some working parents may be eligible for an additional 15 hours per week during term time (i.e. a total of 30 hours). This translates to 24 hours per week with Raised in Bristol as we spread the allocation over the whole year.
If you’re eligible for the extra hours, you sign up online (see below) to get a code to give to Raised in Bristol to reserve a place. You’ll get the extra hours once the next term starts.
To find out how and where to sign up please see the Bristol City Council website. This is a relatively new system so please read the information and follow the steps carefully to get your code.
Please note: if your childcare needs exceed the total number of funded hours (24 hours per week), you will be invoiced for the additional hours to make up a half-day or full-day session at our published hourly rates.
We will also ask you for voluntary contributions to cover the costs of lunch and/or tea if you are receiving a full session of free childcare (£2.50 per meal).
Please see our terms and conditions page for further information.
