The Raised in Bristol nursery environment is set up to spark imagination, creativity, critical thinking, social interactions and independence – all of which help to give children the best start to their early education.
We believe that children develop best through child-led learning supplemented by lots of fun and rich play experiences.
We also promote an individual approach to learning and want children to have the opportunity to develop at their own pace. Children will be able to freely explore the environment with experienced practitioners to support and extend their learning throughout their day.
At Raised in Bristol we actively support a gentle ethos. We support children to develop empathy through conflict resolution techniques. This will enable them to talk about the feelings of their peers as well as their own. We will be using purposeful praise such as "good listening" which encourages good behaviour within the setting.
Our early years practitioners use positive language to support, comfort, encourage and respect children's individual needs at all times.
Raised in Bristol actively involves parents and carers by holding frequent stay and play sessions, sharing information, meetings and through our parents’ advisory group.
Within the nursery itself children, practitioners, parents and carers will create their own little community. Age groups will be mixed enabling children to develop together, build strong relationships and support each other.
Along with being able to enjoy all that the local community offers, we feel that children should develop a sense of pride in, and ownership of, the community. We will encourage them to feel part of the community around them by using shared outdoor spaces to carry out forest school sessions as well as other local facilities to learn and explore.
One of Raised in Bristol's core aims is to support the resilience of local communities and by working in partnership with other community-led organisations we aim to positively contribute to the wellbeing of everyone in the community. Raised in Bristol will also provide direct financial support to our host community organisation by sharing our profits.
We are confident you and your child will enjoy your time with us, but if you are unhappy for any reason, please make an appointment to discuss the matter with the Nursery Manager as soon as possible.
Every effort is made to resolve the situation at this stage. However, if this is not possible, the Nursery Manager will be happy to explain our full complaints procedure and advise you on what happens next. Please read our full complaints policy here.
